| Background | Bombesin is an amphibian peptide and the mammalian counterpart is referred to as Gastrin Releasing Peptide (GRP). Bombesin/GRP is widely distributed in the brain, in peripheral nerves (particularly numerous in the gut) and in endocrine cells of some sub-mammalian species, e.g. in the oxyntic mucosa of birds. The peptide stimulates secretion from endocrine and exocrine cells and intestinal smooth muscle activity. Bombesin/GRP occurs frequently in the bronchial carcinoids. Absorption with 10-100 µg bombesin and GRP per ml diluted antiserum abolishes the staining. |

| Format | State: Lyophilized serum Reconstitution: Dissolve the antiserum in 50 - 100 µl distilled water, and dilute further in 0.1 M PBS with 1% BSA and 0.1% NaN3. |
| Applications | Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections: 1:2000 - 1:3000; overnight incubation at 2-8°C.
Immunofluorescence microscopy: 1:400 - 1:800; overnight incubation at 2-8°C. |
