Background	TPO (Thrombopoietin, Mpl-ligand, and MGDF) produced in E. coli is a single, non-glycosylated soluble protein containing 174 amino acids and having a molecular mass of 18.6 kDa which comprises the receptor binding domain of the Mpl-ligand protein. TPO stimulates the proliferation and maturation of megakaryocytes and promotes increased circulation levels of platelets in vivo.
