| Background | I-FLICE, also known as Casper, is known to inhibit TNFR-1 and CD95 induced apoptosis. It is catalytically inactive form of Caspase 8 and Caspase 10 and binds to them. It contains two death effector domains and a Caspase like domain. Four splice variants of C-FLIP/I-FLICE have been identified and designated FLIP alpha, beta, gamma respectively. They vary in their molecular weights from 28 to 58 kD. |
