| Background | Ube1L is a member of the E1 ubiquitin-activating enzyme family. It is a retinoid target that triggers promyelocytic leukemia (PML)/retinoic acid receptor alpha (RARalpha) degradation and apoptosis in acute promyelocytic leukemia. It has been reported that Ube1L acts as the activating enzyme in the ISG15 conjugation pathway. ISG15 is a ubiquitin-like protein and its transcription is induced by interferon treatment. |
