| Background | In human cancers, Aurora A is commonly overexpressed and elavated levels have been linked to agressive diseases and chromosomal instability. Also, Aurora A has been shown to induce oncogenic transformation in cells. Aurora A is a cell-cycle regulated kinase that plays a key role in chromosome segragation and centrosome maturation. This protein is found at the centrosome in interphase cells and at the spindle poles in mitosis. |
