| Background | Her-4, also known as c-erbB-4 and v-erbB-4, is a Type 1 membrane protein found in numerous cell types. It is a member of the EGF receptor protein family, and is activated by neuregulins and NTAK. Her-4 levels have been found to be elevated in certain human tumor cell lines suggesting that it may play a role in some malignancies. Her-4 is a receptor for heregulin and is capable of mediating HGL-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation of itself. |
