| Background | The c-myc oncogene (p62 c-myc) is involved in the control of normal cellular proliferation and differentiation. In addition, deregulated expression of c-Myc induces apoptosis in different cell types, with c-myc requiring p53 for apoptosis in many cell types. This fact indicates heterogeneous mechanisms for c-myc-induced apoptosis. |
