| Background | These polypeptides occur in the lamina lucida of epidermal basement membrane of skin and amnion. Normal mammary glandular basement membrane and epithelia react strongly with GB3, intraductal carcinomas react less strongly and infiltrating carcinomas do not react. |

| Specificity | Clone GB3, originally characterised as an anti human amnion antibody (ref.1) recognises the epithelium specific basement membrane adhesion molecule kalinin (ref.2), also known as laminin gamma 2. GB3 recognises 5 polypeptides of 93.5-150kDa (ref.3). GB3 may therefore be useful for investigation of intraductal and infiltrating breast adenocarcinoma. Species: Human. |
