| Background | RAGE is a member of the Immunoglobulin superfamily which binds a variety of ligands including advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and amyloid fibrils. RAGE is expressed by endothelium mononuclear phagocytes, smooth muscle and neurons. Recent studies suggest that RAGE may be involved in a range of pathological conditions including diabetes and Alzheimers disease. |

| Applications | Immunhistology (paraffin sections only): requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining. Sodium Citrate buffer pH 6.0 is recommended for this purpose. Recommended Positive Control Tissues: Diabetic kidney.
