| Background | Clusterin is a ubiquitous glycoprotein which exists in at least two distinct isoforms; a proapoptotic nuclear form, of 49kDa, and a prosurvival secretory form with a molecular weight of 75-80kDa. Clusterin is implicated in several diverse physiological processes including sperm maturation, cell differentiation, and apoptosis. Clusterin upregulation has been reported in various human malignancies, including bladder, prostate, and breast tumours.
