| Application | immunofluorescence, Western Blot, This antibody is useful for immunofluorescence and Western blot analysis. For Western blots of yeast protein samples (cell lysates), use at a dilution of 1:10,000, followed by chemiluminescent detection (ECL). For non-ECL western detection methods, use at a dilution of 1:1,000 to 1:5,000., immunofluorescence 1:500-1:5000, Western Blot 1:10000 |
| Background | Pma1p is an abundant multi-domain protein of yeast which is localized in the plasma membrane. It functions as a major regulator of cytoplasmic pH, by pumping protons out of the cell. It is part of the P2 subgroup of cation-transporting ATPases. Since Pma1p is a major plasma membrane protein, antibodies which bind to it such as NB 120-4645 are useful markers of yeast plasma membranes. |
