Regulators of Development

The HMG (high mobility group) box is a DNA-binding domain found in a group of proteins. Besides SRY (Sex-determining region Y), the family of SOX (Sry-type HMG box) proteins,  belongs to this group of proteins containing a HMG-box. The SOX family members are transcription factors who are involved in the regulation of developmental gene expression. SOX9 f.e. regulates the expression of genes, which control chondrocyte development. SOX9 activity itself is regulated by phosphorylation.

Antibodies to SOX-Proteins

Acris Antibodies offers a large selection of antibodies for detection of SOX proteins, among them some are suitable for immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed, paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue sections (see pictures below). All antibodies are reactive with the human antigen in Western blotting and some show crossreactivity towards other species. For SOX9 we offer an antibody pair recognizing the phospho- and non-phospho protein.
