Purified human salivary a-amylase
Application Immunohistochemistry (1:100-1:150): This antibody can be used on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue sections. Prolonged fixation in buffered formalin can destroy the epitope. It is recommended that this product be used on frozen tissue sections or specimens.
Western Blotting (1:200-1:500).
ELISA (1:500-1:1000).
Recommended positive control: pancreas
This antibody is also suitable for use in immunoelectrophoresis, immunodiffusion and precipitation.
Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
Concentration ~ 2 mg/ml
Storage Do not dilute the entire reconstituted solution at once since the diluted solution may have reduced stability. Withdraw aliquots as needed with a micropipette and keep concentrated stock at 4°C. Dilute according to the particular application being used. In general, the 0.05M borate pH 8.0 containing 0.15M sodium chloride, 0.02% sodium azide, is a good diluent to use with most antibodies.
Store the undiluted antibody at 4°C. Do not freeze!
Shelf life: on
This antiserum is determined to be immunospecific for human a-amylase found in human saliva and human pancreatic extract by Ouchterlony double diffusion and immunoelectrophoresis. No reaction with other human saliva proteins or pancreatic proteins is observed. Cross reacts with porcine.
Other species not tested.
