Datasheet Extract

This antibody was developed against a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 101-116 ([BLAST]TIGANLQKQYENWQPR[/BLAST]) of mouse RAPTOR (Genbank accession no. NP_083174). This peptide sequence is reported by NCBI to be 100% conserved among a number of species, including human, mouse, chicken, xenopus, and spotted green puffer fish (tetraodon nigroviridis).
Background Raptor is a binding partner of target of rapamycin (TOR). It binds to 4EBP1 and p70alpha. The binding of raptor to mTOR is essential for the mTOR-catalyzed phosphorylation of 4EBP1 in vitro. It enhances the mTOR kinase activity toward p70alpha. It is also an essential scaffold for the mTOR-catalyzed phosphorylation of 4EBP1 and mediates TOR action in vivo.
