Native Somatostatin conjugated to a protein carrier.
Application Immunohistochemistry on frozen or formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections (1:25-1:100; Prolonged fixation in buffered formalin can destroy the Epitope). Immunofluorescence (1:25-1:100). Recommended positive control: Pancreas.
Background Somatostatin is a peptide of 14 amino acids that functions principally as an inhibitory hormone for the secretion of gastric acid, bile and pancreatic juice. Somatostatin also inhibits the release and action of neurohormonal peptides.
Concentration 0.14 mg/ml
Storage Store the antibody at 2-8°C or in aliquots at -20°C long term. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Shelf life: one year from despatch.
