Purified chicken muscle tropomyosin.
Application Other applications for this antibody include radioimmunoassays, immunoblotting (1:50-1:100) and immunoprecipitation. This antibody can be used on paraffin-embedded, formalinfixed human heart and tongue tissue sections. Prolonged fixation in buffered formalin can destroy the epitope. For a three-step avidin-biotin complex system, this antibody may be used at a dilution of 1:25-1:50 with AutoProbe III (Cat. No. 08-803). Recommended positive control: Human Tongue, heart and Chicken heart. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions of this antibody are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

Storage Store the antibody at 4°C. Do not freeze! Shelf life: one year from despatch.

Aliquoting Instructions: Do not dilute the entire reconstituted solution at once. Withdraw aliquots as needed with a micropipette and keep concentrated stock at 4C. Dilute according to the particular application being used. In general, the 0.05M borate pH 8.0 containing 0.15M sodium chloride, 0.02% sodium azide, is a good dilutent to use with most antibodies. Avoid diluting the entire contents of the vial at once since the diluted solution may have reduced stability.
This antibody is specific for human striated muscle forms of tropomyosin, including cardiac alpha tropomyosin and skeletal muscle forms of tropomyosin. This rod-shaped protein is associated with contractile tissue, where it regulates the Ca2+-dependent interaction between actin and myosin. Reacts with Human, Chicken, Rat. Others not tested.
