Datasheet Extract

Purified normal Ig fractions isolated from pooled Duck serum.
Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
Add. information Adsorption: Not required.
Application ELISA.
Dot blot.
Indirect Immunofluorescence.

Can be used as unlabelled primary or secondary reagent for indirect detection techniques, to prepare conjugates with markers of the user’s own choice, to prepare an insoluble immunoaffinity adsorbent or a solid phase antibody reagent by coupling to an artificial carrier and as catching or detection antibody in non-isotopic methodology and solid phase immunochemistry. When applied in any cytochemical or histochemical procedure or solids phase coupling technique, the optimum concentration of the IgG preparation should always be established by titration.
Recommended Working Dilutions:
Histochemistry: 1/100-1/500.
ELISA and comparable non-precipitating antibody-binding assays: 1/500-1/5,000.
Antibody titre: Precipitin titre not less than 1/128 when tested against normal Duck serum in agar block titration.
Concentration 10.0 mg/ml
Storage Store lyophilized at 2-8°C for 6 months or at -20°C long term.
After reconstitution store the antibody undiluted at 2-8°C for one month
or (in aliquots) at -20°C long term.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Shelf life: one year from despatch.
Hyperimmune antisera with strong precipitating activity are selected for fractionation by salt-precipitation and purification of the IgG fraction by DEAE-chromatography.
Buffer System:
PBS, pH 7.2
None, as it may interfere with the antibody activity
Lyophilized purified hyperimmune IgG fraction
Azide Free
Restore by adding 1 ml of sterile distilled water
The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc and Fab subunits of the IgG molecule. It includes a certain degree of reactivity with other immunoglobulins via the common Fab portion. It does not react with any non-Ig protein in Duck serum, as tested by immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion.
Cross-reactivityInter-species cross-reactivity is a normal feature of antibodies to immunoglobulins, since Ig of different species frequently share antigenic determinants. Cross-reactivity of this antiserum has been tested in Double Radial Immunodiffusion with the following results:
Negative Species: Bovine, Cat , Chicken, Canine (Dog), Goat, Human, Horse, Mouse, Monkey, Rat, Sheep, Swine.
Positive Species: Turkey, Goose, Pigeon.
A negative cross-reaction in Double Radial Immunodiffusion does not exclude a reaction on more sensitive techniques.
