Purity : This product was prepared from Chromatographically pure Avidin followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above.
Add. information Assay by Immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Avidin and anti-Glucose Oxidase.
Application Suitable for Immunoblotting (Western or Dot blot), ELISA and immunohistochemistry as well as other glucose oxidase-antibody based enzymatic assays.
Recommended Dilutions:
ELISA: 1/8,000-1/32,000.
Western Blot: 1/500-1/2,500.
Immunohistochemistry: 1/200-1/1,000.
Background The biological function of avidin is not known. It is a homotetrameric glycoprotein found in chicken egg white, and forms a strong non covalent specific complex with biotin (one molecule of biotin per subunit of avidin).
