Background N-Acetyl Cysteine is a pharmacological agent used mainly as a mucolytic and in the management of paracetamol overdose.
N Acetyl Cysteine is the N-acetyl derivative of the amino acid L-cysteine, and is a precursor in the formation of the antioxidant glutathione in the body. The thiol (sulfhydryl) group confers antioxidant effects and is able to reduce free radicals.
NAC has been used in the treatment of many disorders, but most instances are not well established and have not been adequately investigated.
Concentration 1.0 mg/ml
Storage Store prior to reconstitution at 2-8°C and after reconstitution at -20°C.
Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Shelf life: one year from despatch.
