Background of Glypican-4 (GPC4) antibody
The glypican (Gpc) family of cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans is expressed in a tissue specific and developmentally regulated fashion. Expression of glypican 4 has been reported in the mouse brain at embryonic day 10 and later stages and low during early tubule formation but is up-regulated in mature tubules. Accordingly it is not detected in the midline of the embryo at the stage of intiation of neural tube closure, suggesting that glypican-4 is unlikely to play an essential role in convergent extension in the mouse.

Immunohistochemistry of Glypica-4 staining in section of Human Kidney tissue. The section was incubated with Glypican-4 Antibody Cat.-No AP02029SU and detected using a peroxidase-conjugated secondary antibody according to standard procedures. In the cortex AP02029SU stains weakly the glomeruli, while the luminal surface of epithelial cells in the proximal tubules stained strongly. Original magnification: x1280. Siebertz B et al. Western Blot analysis of Glypican-4 expression in tissues and cell lines. Proteoglycans from the cell or tissue extracts were separated by SDS-PAGE either prior to (N) or after (H) digestion with heparinase/heparitinase. Immunoblotting with Glypican-4 Antibody Cat.-No AP02029SU detects native Glypican-4 in the range of 90-200 kDa, the size of the core was Approx. 57 kDa. Cell lysates of Mouse kidney lysates (35ug) were resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to NC membrane and probed with anti-human GPC4 (1:1000). Proteins were visualized using a goat anti-mouse secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and an ECL detection system.
Human Pancreas (formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded) stained with GPC4 antibody (GTX85882) at 5-10 ug/ml followed by biotinylated goat anti-rabbit IgG secondary antibody LS-D1, alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.
